Prayer Brings Victory

When I asked God for strength
he gave me difficult situations to face
When I asked God for brain
he gave me puzzle in life to solve
When I asked God for happiness
he showed me some unhappy people
When I asked God for wealth
he showed me how to work hard
When I asked God for favors
he showed me opportunities to work hard
When I asked God for peace
he showed me how to help others
God gave me nothing I wanted
He gave me everything I needed

Lush.....Greeeeeeeeen........Nagercoil......(A place lyk paradise to live in)

Today I feel lyk writing about ma hometown Nagercoil, which is a place with all kinds of natural treasures gifted by Mother Nature and a fantabulous place to live in. As you can see in the above pic, its situated at the southernmost tip of India, surrounded by pleasant water on all sides. Being joined with Tamilnadu in 1956 as a result of fragmentation from Kerala, now Kerala is the nearest neighbour to  Kanyakumari district. And hence, even now, the people from Northern parts of Tamilnadu consider our slang to be a mixture of Malayalam and Tamil.
Here I am sharing some of the awesome beauty elements of Nagercoil(KK dist)

The Clock Tower, situated in the heart of the town (which is more than 100 years old)

Nagaraja temple, from which the town derives its name

Suchindrum Temple

Monsoon clouds in Nagercoil

Hills in Nagercoil

Padmanabapuram Palace

Windmills near the outskirts of Nagercoil

Thirparappu Waterfalls

Kanyakumari beach

St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral

These are only some to mention, but still there are many more attractions in our place to visit and enjoy.

To speak about the climate in Nagercoil, its always so pleasant to stay here, I would say....coz since its location is such that its lined along the Western Ghats, we receive rains from both North-east monsoon and South-west monsoon, as a result of which the weather seems to be always soothing here which I m enjoying right frm my babyhood days....:-) Really to be frank, I would always miss the pleasantness of Ngl only when I go to highly horrible climate areas like Chennai.

Nagercoil is a very good developing area in all fields starting from education, industries, factories to the extent of Multinational Companies. Yes, I m proud to say that small small budding companies are getting established in Ngl which in turn gives sure assurances for the quickest development of ma town.

Oh My God!....The best thing tat I m late to tell abt my place is the food. Here, rice is the staple food, accompanied with fish curry and tasty vegetable cuisines, coz here we add coconut as ingredient for many of the dishes which adds additional flavour to the food. Apart from that, we eat most of the Kerala dishes like appa, puttu, idiyappam and so on along with sidedishes prepared in our style. Moreover, I had to state about the banana chips and Jack Fruit chips without which we can't survive at all........hehehehehe...:-))

The best and foremost feature of Nagercoil and its adjacent areas are the Scenic beauty which can never be seen so beautiful and magnificient in any other parts of Tamilnadu...... and I would say tat I m short of words to describe my heaven's natural beauty which comprises of fields, rivers, ponds, mountains, farm animals which can be said as the golden jewels of Mother Nature.

So, as the proverb goes, "East or west, home is the best", for me too, wherever I go, even abroad, I miss ma hometown Nagercoil because I feel that no place on this earth would substitute such a fabulous place where all comforts are there.

  1. Pictures are very beautiful. Thanks for sharing this post. Named after the principle shrine of Nagaraj (or the snake-God) in the city, Nagercoil is a small, unassuming city in Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, harking back to legendary tales of his birth. Rich in a royal legacy from the Travancore period of rule, the city also hosts Catholic and Protestant churches which highlight the advent of Christian missionaries in India. Check out all best hotels in Nagercoil also.
